Aeração e adição de sais na produção de ácido indol acético por bactérias diazotróficas PAB

Foi analisada a produção de compostos indólicos por Azospirillum brasilense Cd, A. lipoferum Br 17, Herbaspirillum seropedicae Z 67, H. rubrisubalbicans M4 e a estirpe 34 isolada de arroz, que não se enquadra em nenhuma das espécies de Herbaspirillum já descritas, em relação a diferentes condições de aeração e concentrações de sais. A maior aeração do meio propiciou aumento na produção de compostos indólicos pelas bactérias testadas. Foi verificado aumento desses compostos, em culturas estáticas, em meio sem nitrogênio no caso de Azospirillum, e na presença de N para as estirpes de Herbaspirillum. The objective of this work was to evaluate the aggregate stability of tropical soils under eucalyptus plantation and native vegetation, and assess the relationships between aggregate stability and some soil chemical and physical properties. Argisols, Cambisol, Latosols and Plinthosol within three eucalyptus-cultivated regions, in the states of Espírito Santo, Rio Grande do Sul and Minas Gerais, Brazil, were studied. For each region, soils under native vegetation were compared to those under minimum tillage with eucalyptus cultivation. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a estabilidade dos agregados, o conteúdo de matéria orgânica leve do solo (MOL), a distribuição dos teores de carbono orgânico total (COT) e nitrogênio (N) e a abundância natural de 13C e 15N dos agregados de um Latossolo Vermelho argiloso sob sistema plantio direto (SPD) com integração lavoura-pecuária (ILP), em comparação à uma área em SPD sem ILP e uma área de Cerrado natural em Montividiu, GO. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência dos cultivos de outono-inverno e primavera, em sistema de plantio direto, nos agregados e matéria orgânica de um Latossolo. O experimento foi conduzido durante as safras 2006/2007, 2007/2008 e 2008/2009. No outono-inverno foram estabelecidas parcelas principais com braquiária (Urochloa ruziziensis), sorgo granífero (Sorghum bicolor) e sorgo consorciado com braquiária. Agricultural zoning of climate risk for Physalis peruviana cultivation in Southeastern Brazil PAB

Abstract: The objective of this work was to elaborate the agricultural zoning of climatic risk (ZARC) for Physalis peruviana, through the thermal and water requirements of the crop in Southeastern Brazil. Air temperature (TAIR) and precipitation (PYEAR) data from 1,530 meteorological stations covering the entire region were used. Regions were considered climatically favorable to Physalis peruviana when TAIR was between 13 and 18ºC and PYEAR between 1,000 and 2,000 mm per year. Regions where TAIR was above 30ºC or less than 13ºC were considered inapt. Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation of 'Hamlin' sweet orange PAB

The development and optimization of efficient transformation protocols is essential in new citrus breeding programs, not only for rootstock, but also for scion improvement. Transgenic 'Hamlin' sweet orange (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck) plants were obtained by Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation of epicotyl segments collected from seedlings germinated in vitro. Factors influencing genetic transformation efficiency were evaluated including seedling incubation conditions, time of inoculation with Agrobacterium and co-culture conditions. Agrochemicals and storage times on soybean seed vigor PAB

Abstract: The objective of this work was to investigate the potential physiological damage of the treatment of '97Y07RR' soybean seeds with different pesticides at different storage times, in order to define the optimal period of sowing. The germination rate, the germination speed index, and shoot fresh matter were evaluated. Thiamethoxam did not cause losses in seed vigor with increasing storage time; however, the other agrochemicals caused significant losses. Seed treatment should be performed up to 90 days before sowing.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the stalk yield, technological quality parameters, and sugar and alcohol productions in the first sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) crop cycle, according to the response to N and K2O applications by subsurface drip fertigation. The experiment was carried out in a dystrophic Ultisol, in a randomized complete block design with four replicates. The treatments consisted of a 2X + 2X + 1 incomplete factorial arrangement with the application of 60, 80, 120, 160, and 180 kg ha-1 N and 60, 80, 120, 160, and 180 kg ha-1 K2O. Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of the split and combinated application of foliar zinc (ZnF) + soil Zn (ZnS) on Zn concentration in the grains (ZnCG) of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris). Two experiments were carried out in a greenhouse during two seasons. In the first experiment, two common bean cultivars received six ZnF rates (0, 120, 240, 480, 720, or 1,200 g ha-1), with split applications at the R5, R7, and R8, or R7 and R8, or R8 plant stages. In the second experiment, one cultivar received three ZnS rates (0, 5, or 10 kg ha-1) combined with ZnF rates (0, 1, 1.5, 3, 6, or 10 kg ha-1). Abstract: The objective of this work was to estimate the genetic, phenotypic, and environmental parameters of 113 barley accessions (Hordeum vulgare), previously selected based on high yield, in an irrigated production system in the Cerrado (Brazilian savanna), for use in breeding programs in Brazil. The objective of this work was to analyze the agronomic performance and chromosomal stability of transgenic homozygous progenies of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill.], and to confirm the resistance of these plants against Anticarsia gemmatalis. Eleven progenies expressing cry1Ac, hpt and gusA genes were evaluated for agronomic characteristics in relation to the nontransformed parent IAS 5 cultivar. Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the growth and production of a garlic clone subjected to either infection or virus-free conditions, according to bulb and clove size classification. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with four replicates. Treatments consisted of either virus-infected or virus-free cloves, obtained from bulbs of four size classes and from cloves with three sieve diameters. Vegetative characteristics and plant production were assessed. Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the productive performance, and the adaptability and stability parameters of modern soybean (Glycine max) cultivars in multi-environment trials, as well as to identify the ideal genotypes for eight growing environments in Brazil. A randomized complete block experimental design was carried out, with three replicates, for the evaluation of 46 soybean cultivars in eight environments, in the microregions of adaptation 102, 201, and 202, in the 2014/2015 crop season. A complex genotype x environment interaction occurred, with changes in the ranking of genotypes among locations. Agronomic performance of quinoa selected in the Brazilian Savannah PAB

Twenty six breeding lines, selected from individual plant progenies of hybrids among varieties Amarilla de Marangani, Blanca de Junín, Chewecca, Faro 4, Improved Baer, Kancolla, Real, and Salares-Roja, had their agronomic characters evaluated, in Planaltina, DF, Brazil (15º36'S and 47º12'W), 1,000 masl, in randomized complete blocks, on a Ferralsol, previously limed and fertilized. Grain yield was positively associated with plant height, inflorescence length and diameter, and plant cycle. Genetic gain can be attained by selection based in these characters for commercial production of quinoa in tropical regions.

Agronomical and molecular characterization of banana germplasm PAB

The objective of the present work was to characterize banana accessions from the Germplasm Bank at Embrapa Mandioca e Fruticultura Tropical (Brazil), using agronomical, physical and physicochemical characteristics of fruit and simple sequence repeats (SSR) markers. Twenty-six accessions were analyzed, in which high genetic variability was found, especially for the agronomical characters number of fruit and weight of bunch. Accessions with high contents of carotenoids (diploid 'Jaran'), polyphenols (triploid 'Caipira' and tetraploid 'Teparod') and vitamin C (diploid 'Tuugia' and an unknown triploid AAA) in the fruit were identified.
